Weekend trip 2

Last Sunday did I and my friend Fredrik drive up to Nicklas In Linköping. Nicklas hade a nice VW typ1 from 59 for sale. After 3 hours drive was we there. The car was in good condition so I bought it.

Me in action looking if someting that aren't good.
Nicklas is telling me what's wrong with the car and what's good with it.
Inside the car looked great. The interior was as good as it cold be on a car from 59.
I'm examin the front of the car.
Here are we checking how much the speedo cable are bulding outside on a BRM rim. We did this to check if the BRM center cap would fit without and major work or bigger modification.
After some consideration did I by the VW. After loaded it up on the cart did we drive to Nicklas garage. His garage was loaded with alot of stuff. Some better stuff and some junk.
Here is Nicklas friends Vuxhall.
The Vuxhall was in very nice condition.
It's alwas fun to see all old stickers that was on the cars lon time ago. This sticker is about SOS and insurance company.
Nicklas has his very nice 60. This VW has just have close to 50000km on the speedo.
On the inside is this car like new.
Nicklas also has the perfect Cal-Look object from 67. This one is for sale. Send me a e-mail if you are intrested in buying it.
The 67 looks very nice on the inside to.
Another cool sticker. This is about thief protection.
Early morning and many hours drive and finaly on the way back home again.
Finaly home at it's new garage entrance.
I think this will be a nice ride fore this summer.

Mohawk

Some funny pictures I got from my friend Fredrik.

How to get motivation

From today will I start to use my blogg in a little different way and not just show updates about my car. I will start to write what's on my mind or what ever. But most of the time will it be connected to VW and my car or friends.

What give you the motivation to go out to a cold and maybe dark garage in the middle of the winter?
I see a lot of photos on different sites and forums on different garages. To see a guy working hard in a small and cold give me the right motivation to go out to my warm and not so bad garage and start to work on what's on the list. Why this gives me the motivation? I can just imagine how little I should do on a car or what ever I'm working on at the moment in a small and cold garage. I get alot of motivation when I'm out and travel for my work. That gives me sometimes a little time to visit friends and other pepole with the same interest.

This week was one long delivery tour. I left my home last sunday for a 600km long drive up to Gävle. On the way up I made my first stop in Borås at two places. First did I meet up with Steffo at Staoil in Borås to pick up some safari windows to Martins new Samba bus . Next stop did I just some km away at P-I the one and only :D I picked up a luggage carrier that I have bought from him som weeks ago. At the same time he loaded my car with a bonnet from a VW 52 I guess.
Here is a picture of P-I:s Ghia. You can read more about P-I and his VW at FOLKA
Now over to the next stop. My next stop was at the famous Nisse in Kulma. This stop was welcome after nearly 300km drive. Nisse had the coffee ready when i arrived and deliver Lucie the devil women. I didn't got permission to take any new pictures in his garage. There was a new secret project on the move. I can say that is has two windows in the back of it. You can see old pictures of Nisse here.
This days last destination was Gävle. Next day was full of work and after that did I make a visit to Woffe. It was to him I had to deliver the luggage carrier. I also deliver some other stuff ;)
Unfortunately was Woffe sick so I could not visit his big VW hideout. Woffe is well know for his company WolfParts.

New day and new adventures. Now did i went back south again, down to Bålsta just outside Stockholm. This time did a deliver an old car radio made by Delco. This Delco was made between 1937 and 1938 in USA. The guy who bought it was B Strömberg. Mr Ströberg is collecting on all kind of car radios. He also have all kind of other stuff for radio repair and normal transistor radios. Mr Strömberg said that he have about 300 radios of various kind. He had a small story about every radio. This guy was fantastic to listen at and I hope he will find a place to show them so everyone can have a chance to se and listen to his stories.
Here is Mr Strömberg pointing at a Lorenz in NOS condition for a VW split. Please do try to buy it or any other radio. He will refuse to sell it. Already has to many people tried to buy it. So please do not call him about that.
Here is a close look at the Lorenz and one of the first Simens. Also the Simens are NOS.

Here is a picture of the very first Blaupunkt that came out on the market just after the world war II.

Here are some radios from the Swedish Sound Radio. They were from the begining made for the Swedish army. Some of them ever have the three Swedish crowns.
A view of some of the radios.
This is one other early American radio. This version had a key so you could look it from kids and other people so they didn't drain the battery when the driver was gone away.
Here are a stack of different Blaupunkt Frankfurt.
Here is one Akkord. This one are both a car radio and and a normal transistor radio that you can carry with you.
Here is a cassette for a Blaupunkt Derby transistor radio.
This is a picture of the last radio i took a picture of. One more very nice radio of his collection.
I want to say thank you to Mr Strömberg for that he let me see his collection.

My VW in Bilsport

In the last number of Bilsport (One of the biggest car magazine in Sweden) is there reportage about my VW.

This is a little proof for myself and the work that I have done during the last years to get the car in the way that I want it. Now can I start on something new or rebuild it again.

The reportage is made of Emanuel Gylling from Bilsport and the pictures have Andreas Hansson taken. I must say I'm very satisfied with it and how they did it. They took pictures for nearly two days at Krister Lindbloms Esso museum and on some country roads outside Varberg.

Now over to some pictures that I took during the day at Kristers Esso museum.
Andreas i action. I wish I hade some coins for the slot :D
They liked Kristers place so much that they did reportage about that to. How will we place this lamp?
Now are we confused.
How does it look?
The pictues was as good as they could be. What a success!

That was that. This two guy was really funny. I hope they will come next year again ;)
